Recital Part Dos

Six is a very magical age... It's an age of self-expression, independence, and the beginning of separatism from one's parents. These are the days when you put your child to bed and wonder if you were too hard on her. Or if you corrected more than empowered. Or just plain collapse from exhaustion from playing referee, chauffeur, teacher, and maid. It is weekends like this that tell me, "it's all worth it." This years' recital is called Thankful Hearts. In this theme, the girls had to write what they were most thankful for on a heart to be displayed in the lobby... Here is my daughter's.

Again, why do I go to these things without boxes of tissues???!?!?!

Here's is Miss Thang during the tap number. Notice the slouchy hose and snooty look. They're supposed to look "snooty" in this song... Rylee said that was her fav part.

As promised, here's a picture of our little Jake & Elwood.

And lastly, here's Rylee with her BFF Emma.

There were seniors dancing their solos (one with her Dad, please hand me the tissues!) and getting recognition, as always. It always makes me realize just how quickly it all goes. How quickly Rylee will be on that stage dancing her solo and moving on... It is my goal to cherish each day with my kids ~ even the hard ones. Because I know they'll be grown up in a blink of an eye.

Beautiful shots!!
We're back at it again this week actually. Rachel is in class with a guy from the Russian Ballet this week, she had a blast this morning.
Enjoy your weekend away (or I hope you did if your back already!).
