Swimming, Lavendar, and the Carnival

OK, this is my conversation with Punk #2 as he's falling asleep, totally wiped from the carnival & fireworks at home:

He cuddles next to me. Puts his tiny little arm around my neck and in the sleepiest, sweetest voice ever says, "Mom... (here's where I anticipated the sweetness. the heartfelt gratitude he feels toward me for caring for him, nurturing, and being there for him every single day) I love... DAD."

That's nice honey. GO TO SLEEP:-)

This is my catch up blog post! Let's start with the end of swimming lessons...

Little man jumped off the board by himself, went down the slide by himself, learned to sit dive (pretty much), and can do a modified doggy paddle. Not bad for a 3 year old fish boy!

This is my second daughter... Well, she's not, but I"ll take her:-)

Swimming! And where is Punk #1 you ask? She's so darn fast in the pool that I really didn't get any good pictures... But keep reading. There are lots!

Last weekend we went to a Lavender Festival. Was it worth the drive? Nope, not at all. But the kids had fun... And we liked this weird bath tub thing, so I took a pic.

Don't we look... nuclear?

Mom & Punk #1.

Dad & Punk #2.

Coolness is looking suave while eating yogurt & strawberries on a hot day. Work it guys...

Punk #2 in nature. Nature beware.

Punk #1 in nature...

Ah, the carnival. A July 4th staple in the Lee household. We don't do Camden Park & don't even mention King's Island. But we rely on our annual carnival to fulfill our adventure needs. And this year, we picked up an extra who will ride rides with Tim! (ie, previous mentioned 2nd daughter)

Ah the Merry Go Round. This is my speed!

Punk #1 slipped away with her hard earned $5 and won a fish. I tried to explain how terrible the life of this fish must be trapped in plastic, piled in a bucket with other fishes in plastic. And how as a consumer she had a responsibility in how she spent her money. The kids just looked at me dazed. Then Punk #2 promptly spent his hard earned cash trying to win another one!

This is Punk #1 out of her box. She seldom ventures out of said box, so I applaud her bravery.

The second daughter - fearless. She gave Tim credit for being "tough" but then professed that she would crush him on the big rides. And for the record... he's down for the count.

Punk #1 can barely pass for the small rides. Next year she moves up or loses out, I guess! May the force be with her...

Want to take a picture with Mom? No. Please? No. Puh-lease? No! Enter previously explained fish. Want to take a picture with Mom & your new fish? YES! Guess where I rate...

HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE! Go kiss a veteran today. Mine's snoring, but I'll kiss him tomorrow.
