Rylee's Turning Six!!!

Six years ago today, I was anxiously anticipating meeting my baby girl. My soccer player who liked to kick her daddy at night and went nuts when I ate pineapples. Was she doing Tae Bo in there?!?

After two days of labor, the Center of the Lee Universe (a title she now has to share, much to her chagrin) was born. Beautiful, sleepy, swaddled in pink, I took my new little angel home, unknowing how my world had changed (read turned upside down...)

Gifted and fiercely independent, Rylee (shown here with cousin Jasmine) set about her duty in reorganizing all our lives. And I can't complain. Her big blue eyes and manipulative head tilt get her farther than I'd like to admit (but not with Mom, I'm now immune). These days, Rylee is growing into a beautiful young lady, tall and lanky.

She loves animals and wants to start an animal shelter here this summer (NOTE: THIS IS DAD'S PROJECT, NOT MOM'S!!!). She enjoys drawing and reading and although she dislikes school, she's doing very well. She's working well above kindergarten and is able to tackle any work I throw at her. Challenging this girl is hard work!

She spends her days playing with her best friends, Emma & Era, hanging out with her family, working on school, and playing outside (rain, snow, sun, sleet.... hmm... there may be a career path here). She love telling jokes that make absolutely no sense, gymnastics, dance, and can't wait for spring soccer.

It's hard letting go of my baby angel, but the sweet, compassionate young lady who has replaced her is pretty awesome. And I"m going to enjoy getting to know her....

Happy Birthday Rylee Mae. You will always be your momma's princess, no matter how old you get:-)
