Hay Rides and Distant Friends

What's the fun of living on a farm if you can't take your best friend from CA on a hayride? James and her beautiful daughters visited us last night and we had a nice visit. It's never long enough, right?

B hangs on to her Momma for part of the ride.

Tim drives as C & J enjoy the scenery.

Thankfully, my son is never filthy when it's time to get him ready for bed... um, yeah.

Where is R you ask? She stuck her tongue out every time I tried to snap a picture, so no go. Is this what first grade is doing to her???

On the school note, I made it for the first two days w/out tears. She asked when I picked her up on the VERY first day if I would give her hugs in the parking lot & let her go in by herself. I had a form to turn in yesterday, so I skated it. Today, my baby girl walked herself in the building and her Momma cried all the way home.

~ I am thankful that my daughter is strong and independent and able to find joy in learning. ~

The visits aren't ever long enough are they? We had a few hours on Monday that's it.
I'm glad Riley is enjoying school!
