Hi there!!

As you'll guess, this isn't Lori blogging...but a guest to her blog!

Lori asked me if I've like to guest blog here on her place and I was so excited to be offered that chance. Then I thought "Wait a minute, WHAT will I say?" I had to put my thinking cap on for a few days! LOL!! I met Lori through a mutual friend, Jamie. We began to email, call each other etc. when Jamie lost her baby daughter a year ago April. And while we still haven't managed to get together we do email often. I feel like I know her really well and we're actually hoping to get together with Jamie maybe for dinner in December. Jamie...did you have any idea we've been in contact so much LOL!!

I'm Jennifer from "A Sample of Jennifer's Thoughts", if you want to know more about me you can pop to my place for a visit. But in general I am a SAHM with 3 kids, whom I also homeschool. They are 11, 8, and 4. I'm married to my high school sweetheart, we've been married 13.5 years now. I LOVE to travel, read, sing, I enjoy counted cross stitch, redoing our new to us home, love to decorate on a budget ~ take my inspirations put them into effect in my own home. I have my blog, I also have a book blog to keep up with what I've read sometimes. I also run a forum with another friend that offers FREE sample offers, sweepstakes, all kinds of good stuff there for cheap or free. Lori actually made our banner for us ~ THANKS Lori!!

I had something all ready to post then came here and thought no, I've got something else.

Do you have friends that you've never met? Or maybe you've met once? I've been blogging for about a year now and have found some wonderful women who I'd consider a friend through the blog world, most of them I've never met before, and odds are I'll probably never meet most of them. Actually, I got started blogging because of Jamie and another friend, who I have never met in my life but feel like she could be my sister.

Suprina at Kitchen Table Chat and I met online several years ago at a discussion forum we both belong to. This is just a small private forum so we really got to know each other well. It's amazing what we have in common.

There are others on that same forum that I feel that close to also. And odds are I mention some of them by name in conversations around the house often. So often that my hubby doesn't give me odd looks anymore just accepts it and goes on.

I've got things in my house that someone will say where did you get that? And I'll say oh so&so sent me that, someone they don't know from Adam but is one of my online friends. I went to California last year to visit Jamie and had planned to meet one of those friends for lunch but plans changed and unfortunately that didn't happen. I did manage to meet another in May when my family & hers just happened to be in Washington D.C. for vacation at the same time ~ WOW and she's from Wyoming!! There are still others I'd love to meet one day.

But know what's weird? I don't have many 'in real life' friends. I did, until I became a mom and my priorities changed when theirs didn't. Or when I quit work to stay home with my kids and the ones I had at work were still tied up with work. I really find myself depending on the internet for adult conversation, just general socialization sometimes.

Do you have friends like that? Are they all bloggers or from other places online? Isn't it amazing how the internet has allowed us to "meet" people far and wide and we can feel so close to them? I guess even though Lori & I live within an hour of each other & she has family within 10 minutes of my house I'd consider her one of those friends. Isn't it great to know that no matter what you have to say or what you're going through you can hop online get the encouragement, love, hugs, thoughts, prayers, laughs, whatever you need from those friends?

**Thanks Lori!! This was fun, maybe you can return the favor when I'm gone on vacation in a few weeks?!?*

Here is my challenge to all of you blog stalkers out there... I know you're reading and not posting (hey, I do it too.. GUILTY), but just for today, show some hospitality to my very welcome guest with a comment;-)

That's what blogs are all about, right?

Hey jennifer!!!! You could have totally been writing about me. Simce having kids, even though mine go to school, I find myself lacking "in real life" friends. Yet when I get online, I have the best friends in the world. Before blogging, I never knew you could totally love someone you've never met, and that these same people know more about me than most of my family!

Hey, I'm here from Jennifer's blog, A Sample. . . and thought I'd leave a comment.

I LOVED this post! I too, can totally relate and have TONS of wonderful women I've meant online, but have yet to meet in person. I'll probably never meet any of them, but I'm LOVING meeting tons of new people.

It is hard though, as my blog is private and I feel like a dork writing comments on random blogs knowing that if they link back to me, they'll find a private blog and be like,"what the heck"? "Who is this random person commenting" Furthermore, it's awkward to be like,"ya, I don't know you, my blog's private, you wanna invite? It's really a great blog (not really)" etc etc. I haven't figured out how to make that aspect of being private work.

So, I don't blog surf as much anymore and it makes me sad. I long to meet more great women, but just don't know how.

Alright, I've babbled long enough on a blog that I've never read before, but as Jen knows, I love to babble babble babble.

Have a great week everyone! :)
